We all Indians have grown up watching all kinds of Hindi movies churned out by Bollywood every year. And Bollywood is going places, going global by taking the IIFA to a number of international destinations throughout the world.
The 15th IIFA recently concluded in Tampa bay, FL in the United States. Organizing IIFA was long overdue in United States considering the number of Indian diaspora who work and are settled here. And to choose Tampa over other major contenders such as LA, NYC and other metropolis was a real surprise. It is like choosing sleeping town over an exotic location for a holiday destination. As the mayor of Tampa said in his opening statements, many people were surprised and skeptical of the ability of the city to organize an event of such a scale. And many of these people even asked, "Where is Tampa?". But come on, the city has organized 3 super bowls, an event much bigger than IIFA, over the last few years.
Over the last few weeks, the IIFA fever had gripped the city of Tampa and people were real excited about the event. IIFA was topic of all the discussion among the people of Indian origin.
Some of my pics from the event highlights the enthusiasm about the event.
